About This Dataset
NHANES is the primary population reference dataset for LabNorms. It uses a complex multistage probability sampling design to produce nationally representative estimates for the US population. Percentiles are computed using survey-weighted analysis to account for the sampling design.
Limitations
- US population only (distributions may differ in other countries)
- Cross-sectional design cannot establish causal relationships
- Self-reported dietary and supplement data may be subject to recall bias
